"Life is like riding a bike, the only thing that comes after a fall is to find the strength and confidence to pick yourself up again and carry on the journey no matter how badly the wound hurts"
I first saw the link lets say 6-7months back. It was an accidental realisation of how similar life and riding a bike is. Yet at that time, the only link i managed to draw up from biking, is that we all pick ourselves up after falling from a bike. And we can easily apply that to life and troubles along the way.
But after my fall 2 days ago and my oh-so-irritating injury, i realised that there's more to it. Right after the fall, i started to be more afraid, more cautious, especially on my right side, as i fell on my right knee. After i got home, i thought that i wasnt gonna be able to bike till at least another 2 weeks till my injury fully heals, for fear of injury again. But today i decided that i'm not gonna let my injury hold me back, and i took my bike out again despite my phobia and the pain that bugged my ride. Only then did i realise that it works the same for life.
Whenever we are hit with an obstacle or a problem in life, that is when we fall. But too many people are just not confident enough, and they rather let the wounds heal on their own before moving on in life, wallowing in self pity and wondering what went wrong in the meantime. The main point i'm driving at here is that we shouldn't always be laid back and let time heal the wounds no matter how hurt we are. We should do things in our control to reduce the damage done. Live as if we did before this problem surfaced, same as to how i rode today as if i haven't fell 2 days ago. Yes of course the starting may be a scary and an unfamiliar period, but at the end of the day, everything will get better, and the wounds will be healed. Remember, the word confident exists for a reason.
